Senior Dog

Georgetown Veterinary Hospital is now offering Acupuncture Services!

Dr. Caitlyn Crawford offers acupuncture and herbal medicine for both dogs and cats. Both of these services are beneficial for a variety of reasons. Acupuncture is used on different points of the body to stimulate the opioid receptors (pain relief) throughout the body as well as stimulate nerves, increase blood circulation, relieve muscle spasms as well as a natural release of hormones (cortisol and endorphins).

Not only can she use acupuncture to help your senior dog feel younger by relieving aches and pains, but it is also used to manage kidney disease, liver disease, seizures, allergies, and neurologic problems (IVDD) as well as keeping cancer patients comfortable. On top of acupuncture, herbal management is used synergistically to help prolong the effects of acupuncture to keep your pet comfortable for long periods.

Dr. Crawford offers a variety of acupuncture modalities ranging from the dry needle, aquapuncture with vitamin B-12, Electroacupuncture, and pneumo-acupuncture. She will choose the route that is best for your pet after an Eastern exam is performed during your pet's consult.

"I look forward to helping your pet heal at your next visit!" -Dr. Caitlyn Crawford
