The following is a letter sent to all our clients regarding the closing of our Boarding Facility.

Dear Georgetown Veterinary Hospital Clients,

We have some new changes coming soon that we would like to tell you about. After careful consideration, we have decided to close our boarding facility at the end of March. We have greatly enjoyed being able to serve the pets of our community in this way, but we have realized another need our patients have that we feel we have a responsibility to meet. Our plan, after the closing of the boarding facility, is to repurpose the building as an integrative medicine center. Integrative medicine is not a new concept in the veterinary world, but one we feel is being underutilized to meet the various needs of our patients.

Our hospital will remain as it is, but the new center will be a place for pet parents to come and learn about additional ways they can give their pets the best quality of life possible. Our patients will have a variety of modalities available to them to enhance their health and wellbeing such as physical rehabilitation, acupuncture, laser therapy, nutraceutical supplementation and so much more. We will be exploring the alternative kinds of therapies many of you have been asking us about for so long. This center will help meet the needs of our patients who cannot take pain medications but still need pain relief, patients who are recovering from surgeries and injuries, geriatric pets, and limitless other possibilities.

Our doctors and nurses will be thoroughly trained, and many will be certified to provide this specialized care to your pets. Our practices and methodologies will be backed by science and research. We believe that offering this service to the pets in Georgetown and the surrounding area will fill a gap that has prevented many animals from receiving the comprehensive care they need.

We can understand that many of you may have some questions and we will strive to answer them all. We will be updating our website and social media as the changes start to take place, so check back with us at for more information.

If you have an upcoming need for boarding services, please contact Ponderosa Pet Resort. They are a wonderful facility, and we know that your pets will be in great hands. If you have an upcoming reservation with us, we will be contacting you over the next few days to assist you in the transition.

We cannot fully express how much we appreciate all the support you have given us through the years. We are excited to move forward into this next season of medical care for you and your best fur friends!
