Lessons From the Pandemic

May 11, 2020

This has been a challenging time that has changed the world.

The way we interact with our family, friends, coworkers, clients, and patients has been upended. Families now must balance the uncertainties of their jobs but also care for and teach their children at home. Our children are trying to navigate how to learn and complete their schoolwork through online resources while missing their friends. Business owners struggle with how to protect their employees, customers, and the future of their businesses.

With every challenge, we have the choice to either let it overcome us or find a way to evolve and even ultimately thrive after it has passed. The latter is what I choose. I have watched my team learn how to make "curbside" appointments work. We have learned to implement more ways to care for our patients when they cannot come to us through telemedicine. My team has learned how to step into new roles when needed to continue providing care for our patients. This challenge has allowed us to evaluate how we can best not only meet the medical needs of our patients but also exceed the expectations of our clients.

These are the aspects I will continue to focus on as we continue to go through this pandemic together and beyond. I plan to facilitate additional training and licensing of my team. We will be continuing to offer curbside and drop-off services to clients for their convenience. We will be using the skills of our team to the fullest to provide optimal care and efficiency. In the future, you will see changes in our procedures that reflect these new goals. We believe these changes will benefit not only you, and your pets but also the community we all love.
