Dr. Lauren Long, a native of Little Rock, Arkansas, considers early memories of fun with the family schnauzers, Maximillian der Deutsch Boy and Fritz Von Schnappen, as the driving force behind her veterinary career.
Dr. Long obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Hendrix College, in Conway, Arkansas, and received her DVM from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2008.
Dr. Long briefly relocated to Austin, Texas, after marrying her college sweetheart prior to completing an internship in Avian and Exotic Animal Medicine through the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, Ontario in 2011.
Dr. Long and her family traded their snow shoes for sandals in 2011 when her family relocated to Dallas Fort-Worth, where she worked in emergency animal medicine for three years.
Having enjoyed her previous stint in Central Texas, Dr. Long and her family jumped at the opportunity to relocate to the Austin area in 2014. She focuses on exotic pets, internal medicine, and preventive care.
When she is not at the clinic, Dr. Long keeps busy wrangling her two cats, two pit bulls, and two kids.
