Dr. Kristin Nichols grew up in Fairfax, Virginia right outside Washington DC.
Dr. Nichols grew up riding horses and surrounded by many animals, having as many as 10 cats (4 of which were fosters) at one time! She started working at a veterinary hospital when she was 17 and continued at the clinic as a veterinary technician for 10 years prior to going to vet school.
Dr. Nichols attended Virginia Tech for her undergraduate degree and obtained her veterinary degree in 2010 from Mississippi State University. She moved to Austin after she graduated to complete a small animal rotating internship at Central Texas Veterinary Specialty Hospital. After falling in love with the Austin area, she began working at Georgetown Veterinary Hospital in 2011. Her areas of interest are neurology, internal medicine, surgery, preventative medicine, and geriatric care.
Dr. Nichols lives with her husband and their 3 and 4 legged children which include a Chiweenie, a Terrier Mix, a Boxer, and 2 shorthaired cats. She enjoys spending time with her 2 children and her husband, Disney World, and crocheting in her “free time"!
